Classic Engagement Photos in Historic Downtown Monroe, MI | Abby & Felipe

Abby and Felipe first met while working at Fermi Nuclear Power plant back in 2017 (or as Felipe put it, "she couldn't keep her eyes off of me!"), and when they suggested we hold their engagement session in Historic Monroe, MI, I was completely game!

I actually lived in the Monroe area for the past several years, and loved having an opportunity to photograph Abby & Felipe downtown and in the place where they basically met and fell in love. We lucked out with the weather (no rain, which was what the forecast called for), and the evening light was absolutely stunning. These two were the best as we walked around the city in the high humidity and they were such a joy to work with!

Marita + Kirt | Downtown Flushing, MI Engagement

She had me at the words, "I think I'll be wearing a blush tulle skirt." When Marita, Kirt, and I sat down to chat about some ideas for their engagement session I was doing a happy dance as Marita told me about their outfit choices! I feel like day-to-day you wear what you need for work or for comfort, but there aren't many opportunities to really rock a blush tulle skirt. I always want my couples to feel like themselves in their engagement portraits, but in my opinion there is no such thing as too dressed up when it comes to the engagement session! . . .

Autumn Apple Orchard Engagement: Ericka + Michael

On a warm night, while walking the streets of Savannah, Georgia, Michael silently pondered just the right moment to reach into his pocket and propose to Ericka, the beautiful woman walking beside him. While his mind was focused on timing, Ericka's was none the wiser and ready to try some of the delicious food they'd been hearing so much about. Michael had to rethink his timing for the moment and the next evening, as the sun began to set over the big, draping branches of the Spanish Moss, he planned a private carriage ride around the city.
