Frequently Asked Questions

for the passionately curious

Where are you located?

I've lived in Michigan my whole life and currently call Monroe, MI my home for now which is about 25 minutes south of Detroit. I'm normally traveling all over the state including, Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Western and Northern Michigan.

I also travel to amazing destinations all the time for weddings and engagements. Destinations so far include: Chicago, Charleston, & Nashville

Final Number of Images?

It will depend on the wedding, as each is unique, but on average I usually deliver 600 - 800 final digital photographs from a full wedding day. All of these final photos will be professionally edited and high-resolution and will be delivered to you in a password protected online gallery for you and your guests to order prints directly from my lab. You will also be able to download all of your digital images from the gallery and will receive the shared printing rights.

Do You Charge Travel Fees?

There are no travel fees for any wedding located within the lower peninsula of Michigan. I charge .57 cents per additional mile outside of the lower peninsula and there are travel fees associated with destination weddings and engagements as well.

For every destination wedding, I do all that I can to accommodate your needs with a modest travel fee. Flight and room and board are additional to any basic coverage price.

Can we meet up with you in person?

Of course! I shoot a limited number of weddings every year and want to personally get to know all of my couples to ensure we are the best fit for each other. I love meeting up in person for coffee or if you live far from Southeastern Michigan, I would be happy to set-up a virtual meeting to chat over Skype before booking any sort of wedding coverage!

HOW TO BOOK: As soon as I confirm that I am available for your wedding date and we've had a chance to speak about your day, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer (from the total amount) and a signed contract to secure a wedding date.

From there I will officially be your wedding photographer!

Do You travel for Destination Weddings?

Yes! Yes! and Yes! It shouldn't be a surprise that I am a big dreamer and I LOVE traveling. When I get the opportunity to travel AND photograph a wedding at the same time, I'm in heaven!

If you are getting married or want some portraits in a destination outside of Michigan, shoot me the deets here and we'll chat more!

I have also decided to offer my services at a special rate if you are planning on getting married in one of my dream locations below. Whether it's by plane, train, or automobile, I am always up for a good adventure!

Difference between second photographer and assistant?

For my starting photography coverage, I bring along Scott as my non-shooting photography assistant, who also happens to be the love of my life. He helps me with lighting, carries extra equipment, and I consider him to be a professional bouquet holder and dress fluffer when needed. :)

Scott allows me to focus on being creative and what really matters - taking wonderful pictures of you - and not worrying about the little things. I recommend that if you would like multiple angles & perspectives covered on your wedding day and/or if you are having 250+ guests, that you consider adding a 2nd shooter into your wedding collection.

Scott has been trained by me to work as my second shooter when needed and I also work with a network of awesome and very talented 2nd photographers.
