3 Reasons You Need a Father Daughter First Look on Your Wedding Day

Today's blog post is for all those brides who land on the more traditional side of things, but who still love the idea of a first look and who are looking for an alternative! This post is also for all those brides planning to share a first look with their husband-to-be, but who have a special connection they want to document with their dad (or mother or brother). Dads hold a very special place in my heart on wedding days and father daughter first looks have become some of my absolute favorite wedding images to capture outside of the bride and groom first look and romantic portraits! I feel so honored to capture the interactions, hugs, tears, and laughter between the bride and her father! . . .

Intimate Desert Session, Tempe, AZ | Brooke + Chester

I was recently able to travel to Arizona and while there I knew I HAD to take advantage of the beautiful desert setting while I had the chance!! Brooke and Chester were so romantic together in front of my camera, and I loved capturing these images of them and all of the gorgeous details. Brooke's stunning bouquet was filled with yellow, pink, and red roses and was tied together with taupe colored ribbons. Her wedding gown was embellished with delicate lace sleeves and a lace bodice and Chester's tan suit made him look very dapper! . . .

I am freaking out over here, friends!! Katie and Josh’s wedding day was so amazing and Katie made SUCH a gorgeous bride! I am pouring myself a refreshing cup of hot apple cider this morning as I look back on their elegant and romantic fall wedding day! Relaxed Scottish Wedding in the Countryside | Nicole + Phil

Ok, I am going to try not to cry as I share Nicole and Phil's beautiful wedding day story!! I have such a connection to this CCP Couple because not only are they two of the most amazing people, but Nicole is also my one of my very best friends and my soul-sister! I have known Nicole since the third grade and we met while riding the bus to school. I think we bonded over our mutual weirdness and the fact that we lived within 2 dirt road miles of each other! . . .

Fun and Whimsical Beach Wedding in St. Joseph, MI | Ashley + Tim

Ashley + Tim couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding day in St. Joseph, MI! Their intimate ceremony took place right on silver beach and their reception at the Shadowland Ballroom included a carousel! Coolest cocktail hour ever goes to these two for having cotton candy and popcorn for their guests while they enjoyed rides on the whimsical carousel creatures!! This fun vibe worked beautifully with all of Ashley's details and the sea glass and lilac color palette. . .

Nautical Inspired Yacht Wedding, St. Clair Shores, MI | Carole + Mark

From the moment I met with Carole + Mark I knew their wedding day was going to be amazing because they were going to have so many classic details, but also because they weren't afraid to be themselves and have a celebration that was uniquely them! Carole and Mark love to boat and being out on the water has been a big part of their 16-year relationship and, honestly, if you live in Michigan it's hard not to love being out on the lake. They decided to hold a lakefront ceremony at the Jefferson Beach Marina, before all their guests boarded a luxury yacht for the reception, and the night would end with Carole and Mark dancing under the stars and the glowing lights of Detroit's skyline and the Ambassador Bridge!! . . .

I am kind of at a loss for words at describing Jess + Pat's amazing wedding day!! They invited their friends and family from all over the world to celebrate in a casual and intimate backyard setting. Their wedding was held at a lakeside family home in Ann Arbor and it was understated, elegant, fun, and will forever be close to my heart because every detail felt so personal to Jess and Pat! . . .

Chelsea and Nick are two of the most fun and laid-back couples I've had a chance to work with and even though they had so much anticipation and nerves leading up to the ceremony, these two were a dream to work with and made my job of capturing their love so effortless!
