Dramatic European Inspired Wedding at Detroit Masonic Temple: Katie + Jerry
On a chilly December afternoon in Frankenmuth, Katie and Jerry strolled amongst families and holiday shoppers perusing the shops for Christmas gifts and enjoying the festive cheer in the air. And as if out of a fairytale, they came upon some horse-drawn carriages. Much to Katie's shock and surprise Jerry insisted that they go for a ride. It was then, as the horse hooves clopped over cobble stone streets and as they rode past the Bavarian inspired village, that Jerry proposed to Katie.
Jerry is such a guy's guy, who loves to fish, work on cars, and has some pretty awesome one-liners in his repertoire. Katie is so sweet and is the type of girl who, as a child, spent many Sunday afternoons in her grandmother's basement listening to old records and polka dancing. On their wedding day, in downtown Detroit at the Masonic Temple, Katie prepared in a medieval bridal suite which was complete with suits of armor and big, beautiful, dramatic windows. As her bridesmaids helped her into her wedding gown, the most anticipated moment of the day had finally come; when Katie's father would walk her down the aisle to Jerry.
Tears sneaked out of their parents eyes and laughter burst forth from Katie and Jerry as they said their marriage vows in the very European inspired chapel. With her burnt orange, red, and yellow flower bouquet in hand Katie and Jerry made a truly unique and show-stopping exit in Jerry's red corvette!
We traveled to Katie's family farm outside of the city and captured some romantic bride and groom photos beneath a vast blue sky. Katie and Jerry's guests cheered at their arrival at the Romulus Progressive Club for their reception, where Katie's parents had held their wedding reception about 40 years prior (how cute!) and everyone danced the night away.
Katie and Jerry, I hope you are having so much fun in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Savannah, and it was such an honor and a joy to be a part of your wedding day. I with you nothing but adventure and happiness together!
Love Always,
Courtney Carolyn
