There’s something I like to call the “almost kiss.” It’s when two people lean in to kiss each other and it’s the few milliseconds right before their lips meet. This is the kind of kiss you see a lot of the time on the cover of romance novels or that the camera zooms in on in the movies.
Jackie was the queen of the almost kiss!! I say that because each time Kyle went to kiss her, without fail, the cutest little smile would streak across her face momentarily right before they melted into each other. (Keep scrolling to see her smile!) It was seriously the most romantic thing and I love how much joy she has when it comes to kissing her fiancé, Kyle! I pray that she always keeps that smile right before he leans down, pulls her in close, and kisses her.
I had the best time at Jackie & Kyle’s engagement session at Stony Creek Metropark and these two were so candid and their laughter was contagious! I loved the beautiful light coming through the trees behind them and there’s something romantic about the forest setting combined with the cobblestone steps, which are all that’s left of a mansion that stood here one upon a time. The pop of personality on Kyle’s Captain America socks is also a fun detail that caught my eye!
Stony Creek Metropark is a little slice of Northern Michigan, but it’s located just 30 miles from downtown Detroit! There are lots of trees, fields, and gorgeous waterfront views that are perfect for sunset! I definitely recommend it if you’d like that Up North vibe while staying close to home! Jackie and Kyle I had the best time with you guys and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding day next year!!
