Country Club of Detroit Wedding in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI
Cristina and Josh first met in medical school, and Cristina ended up going into Emergency Medicine and Josh went into Gynecology & Obstetrics! All their years of hard work and patience while earning their medical education & their years of residency would end up being great practice for all the hard work & patience they would have to have when it came to wedding planning in 2020 / 2021!
Josh proposed to Cristina on a trip to Florida on a beautiful golf course overlooking a pond, and these two couldn’t wait to get married! As we all know, the last year and a half threw all brides and grooms into a bit of limbo with the pandemic and gatherings being limited. Cristina & Josh eventually decided to hold a small, civil ceremony & dinner with their closest friends & family, first, before holding their larger celebration later on.
The morning started off with a lot of rain and it quickly dashed their plans for an outdoor ceremony at the Country Club of Detroit in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. They moved their ceremony indoors to the ballroom, with its soaring ceiling, exposed wood, and tasteful artwork, and the grand fireplace would become their new altar. Even though it wasn't 100% intentional, the rainy weather made their tiny celebration feel all the more moody & romantic!
Cristina and Josh shared an emotional first look prior to some family portraits and the start of their ceremony. I was so excited when the rain let up for about 10 minutes and we were able to run outside and capture some portraits of these two as Mr. & Mrs out on the beautiful grounds of the county club!
I then captured several heartfelt toasts from friends and family in honor of the couple and my coverage ended after they cut their chocolate & strawberry wedding cake! Even though it was a small celebration, and my coverage was for only 2 hours, I feel like we were able to capture so many meaningful moments that Cristina & Josh will be able to look back on for years to come! Even small weddings that have a classic, simple vibe are worth documenting and they are truly worth celebrating!
